At Winghavens we are dedicated to selective breeding, raising  and training Versatile Gun Dogs. Our breedings are carefully selected to produce a biddable hunting partner with a natural ability for hunting, retrieving, pointing and a sound temperament. Our Shorthairs are our family companions that live in our home and this is also where puppies are whelped and cared for.   All our GSPS are certified free of hip and elbow dsyplasia by Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) and eye abnormalities by Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF). Any GSP selected for breeding is required to have the same certifications. We believe that breeding the BEST to BEST and conform to the American Kennel Club standard for the breed will produce better quality gun dogs and hunting companions in the future.   Our GSPS are tested in the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association  (NAVHDA) system, German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America water retrieving test and AKC hunting test and have earned many titles and certificates.   We have trained and breed versatile gun dogs since 1978, including  Setters, German Wirehaired Pointers, Pointers and German  Shorthaired Pointers and are active, participating member of local chapters NAVHDA and German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Michigan.   Please visit the Planned Breeding and 2012 Litter for information on puppies.
